Talk Apps
Talk Apps organize the activities and posts that you use every day to do your work.
When an App is deployed to Talk, you access the Apps page to interact with events, tasks, announcements, polls, posts, and other activities and content.
For example, if you are invited to an event, go to the Event App to see details about all company events you are invited to and want to attend. Open the Calendar app to see your work schedule and invite people to a meeting.
How do I open Talk Apps?
Talk mobile: Tap Menu > Social > Engagement Apps.
Talk desktop: Click Apps.
Event
Talk admins create and publish Event meeting and feed posts. Event posts display in activity and group feeds. You can also view Event posts from the Event app where you can see all events you are invited to and those you already plan to attend.
All event posts include an Attend button so you can RSVP and let everybody know you are going.
How do I attend an event?
- Go to Apps > Event to see all events you are invited to.
- Click Tap Attend to submit an RSVP for any event you want to participate in. The button updates to say Attending.
- If you decide not to attend an event you accepted, click tap Attending. The button updates to say Attend.
Poll
Talk admins create poll posts with questions that give you an opportunity to respond with your opinions and ideas. Polls display in activity and group feeds where you add comments (if enabled) and respond to coworkers.
You can also view all polls from the Poll app.
How do I take a poll?
- Go to Apps > Poll to see all available polls.
- To participate in a poll, click tap Take Poll.
- Select one or more answers (depending on the poll) and click tap Submit. All responses to the poll display. You can return to the Apps > Poll page at any time to view all poll results.
Recognition
With the Recognition app, you can publicly recognize people you appreciate and endorse them with a card and a personal message. You can send the recognition post to specific groups or to everyone. Other team members can like the post and add their own comments.
From the Recognition app, you create and send recognitions and view and comment on any recognition posts in your feed.
How do I endorse a coworker?
- Go to Apps > Recognition to see all available endorsements. Click Tap a card to view the endorsement and add a comment.
- To recognize a coworker, click tap Endorse.
- For Target, select one of the following:
- To Everyone
- To Groups. Select one or more groups you want to access the post.
- Enter the name of the Coworker you are endorsing.
- Enter a Comment.
- Select one of the following:
- Select a card. Choose from the list of available cards.
- Upload your card. Select your own image file.
- Click Tap Send.
- To delete an endorsement after you create it,
click tap
its more menu
and click tap Delete.
Ideabox
Talk admins post Ideabox challenges to gather ideas from employees. You can contribute ideas on relevant topics and issues and figure out ways to help solve job challenges. Others can respond to these ideas, add their comments (if enabled), and engage discussions.
Any idea you submit is eligible to win a gold, silver, or bronze ribbon.
How do I share my ideas?
- Go to Apps > Ideabox to see all active and expired challenges.
- To respond to a challenge, click tap Share your idea.
- Add an Idea Title and Idea Description.
- (Optional) Add images and attachments.
- Click Tap Submit.
Calendar
With the Calendar app you view meetings you are attending and see details from your work schedule in the parent product . From Talk, you can view your schedule for any day in the current or following month. You can also schedule meetings.
How do I see my calendar?
- Go to Apps > Calendar. The calendar of the current month displays.
- Select a date to see your schedule for that day. Information about each shift, including hours and duration, displays. Any meetings you have scheduled for that day also display.

Click Tap
the right arrow
in the calendar to see the next month. - Refresh the view to ensure the latest information from the parent product displays.
How do I create a meeting in the Calendar app?
You can schedule a meeting and invite individuals or groups. The meeting will then display in the feed of any user invited to attend. Users can choose whether to attend the meeting.
- Go to Apps > Calendar. The calendar of the current month displays.
- Click Tap Create or Create Meeting. The Create Meeting panel opens.
- For Topic, enter a short meeting title or description.
- Click Tap Start date and time and select the day and the time the meeting starts.
- For End date and time, accept the default (one hour after the start) or select a different end date/time.

For Attendees,
click tap
one of the following:
- Users. Select one or more people to invite.
- Groups. Select one or more groups to invite.

Click Tap
More optional fields to set the following:
- For Location, enter the location of the meeting, such as a conference room.
- For Alerts, set the time or day when you want attendees to receive a meeting reminder. No reminder is the default.
- Add Notes.
- Add Attachments.
- Click Tap Create. The meeting is created and the meeting details display.
How do I manage my meetings?
After you create a meeting, you can return to edit the meeting details and review who is planning to attend.
- Go to Apps > Calendar.
- In the calendar, select the day of the meeting.
- Select the meeting. The RSVP section shows how many people accepted (including you), rejected, and have yet to respond to the meeting invite.
- Click Tap Edit to make any changes to the meeting details, then click tap Save.
- To remove the meeting, click tap Cancel Meeting.
How do I open my calendar in the parent product
Your Talk Calendar app is synchronized to display your current work schedule from the parent project. You can navigate from the Calendar app directly to your calendar in the parent product.
- Go to Apps > Calendar.

Click Tap
at the top-right. Your schedule in the parent product opens in another window.
Folder
The Folder app contains all available files posted to Talk, including those uploaded to Talk posts, messages, and groups in your feed.
How do I see Talk files and folders?
- Go to Apps > Folder. A view of the files and folders you have access to displays.
- Click Tap a folder to see the documents and any sub-folders it contains.
- To see more information about a document or folder,
click tap
its more menu
and select View Details. - Click Tap a document to open it.
Announcement
Go to the Announcement app page to see all important announcements posted by the Talk admin.
How do I see announcements?
- Go to Apps > Announcement to see all active announcements and the dates they were posted. Important announcements are marked as Urgent.
- Click Tap an announcement to see more information, including any attachments.
Survey
Talk admins post surveys allowing you to provide direct feedback.
How do I take a survey?
- Go to Apps > Surveys to see your Talk Survey Monkey surveys.
- To participate in a survey, click tap Take the survey. The survey opens in another pagescreen.
Tasks
Talk tasks guide you to complete assignments for last-minute jobs or work that falls outside of your typical responsibilities. When your supervisor assigns you a task, you are notified in a chat message. Open the task from the chat to start your work.
